BrainChain is operated by P. J. Jungers ("BrainChain", "we", "us"). By creating an account, playing the daily chain, or buying Jolts or a subscription, you are entering an agreement with P. J. Jungers and you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please stop using the service.

The service

BrainChain is a daily trivia game. Each day we publish five questions; finishing the day adds a link to your chain. Jolts are an in-game virtual currency used for lifelines and Final Link Saves. Jolts have no cash value, cannot be exchanged for money, and cannot be transferred between accounts.

Your account

• You must be old enough to form a binding contract where you live, or have permission from a parent or guardian.
• You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your sign-in credentials confidential.
• Information you give us (such as your email or chain name) must be accurate and kept up to date.

Acceptable use

You must not:

• use BrainChain for anything unlawful, fraudulent, or abusive;
• cheat, script, automate, or otherwise manipulate scores, streaks, leaderboards, or referral rewards;
• send spam, harassment, or hateful content through chain names, circles, or shares;
• infringe anyone's intellectual property rights;
• interfere with the security or integrity of the service — no malware, probing, scraping, load attacks, or circumventing technical limits;
• reverse engineer, resell, or redistribute the service or its question content.

We may remove content, reset scores or leaderboard entries, and moderate names or shares that break these rules.

Licence and intellectual property

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use BrainChain for personal, non-commercial play. All rights in the service — software, question sets, artwork, and the BrainChain name and branding — remain owned by P. J. Jungers or our licensors. Content you submit (for example a chain name) is licensed to us only to the extent needed to run the service.

Service level

We work to keep BrainChain available and accurate, but the service is provided "as is". We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation, and daily puzzles, streaks, or leaderboards may occasionally be delayed, corrected, or unavailable. To the fullest extent permitted by law we disclaim implied warranties, including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.

Payments and subscriptions

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.

Payment, billing, currency, tax, renewal, cancellation, and refund mechanics are governed by Paddle's Checkout Buyer Terms. Subscriptions renew automatically for the period you selected until cancelled; you can cancel at any time and keep access until the end of the paid period. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate your access for material breach of these terms, non-payment, suspected fraud or security risk, or repeated or serious policy violations. You may stop using BrainChain at any time and ask us to delete your account. On termination, unused Jolts and in-game progress are forfeited.

Liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses, including lost data, lost streaks, or lost profits. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here excludes liability for fraud, death, or personal injury caused by negligence where the law does not allow exclusion.

Changes and governing law

We may update these terms; continued use after an update means you accept the new version. These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state of the seller's residence, and disputes will be handled by the courts there.
